A Simple Mismatch Mitigating Partial Power Processing Converter for Solar PV Modules

Partial shading affects the energy harvested from photovoltaic (PV) modules, leading to a mismatch in PV systems and causing losses. For this purpose, differential power processing (DPP) converters are emerging electronic-based topologies used address issues. Normally, modules connected series DPP extract these by only fraction of called mismatched power. In work, switched-capacitor-inductor (SCL)-based converter is presented, which mitigates non-ideal conditions solar systems. A proposed SCL-based technique utilizes simple control strategy maximum partially shaded Furthermore, an operational principle loss analysis for presented. The topology examined compared with traditional bypass diode through simulations experimental tests. efficiency validated experiment simulation. results demonstrate performance terms higher yield without bypassing low-producing module using control. indicate that achieved than 98% under severe (higher 50%).
